Steps to get rid of your Denver landscaping weeds

One of the biggest annoyances for landscapers and home owners alike are weeds, and no matter what you do they never seem to fully disappear. There are several things you should consider and ways you can help get rid of weeds when working with your Denver landscaping. Here are some of our best tips:
Cover Them Up!
Have you ever heard of weed barriers? The cover made out of cloth or tarp that you can lay down to cover weeds and keep them from growing in? This is a cheap and effective DIY, however you’ll have to do it right. When you are applying the fabric, make sure to pull up all weeds underneath first (from the root) and cut the fabric to fit around your plants. You don’t want to cover your plants. If you are completely revamping your landscaping now, plant the plants first then lay down the fabric. A lot of people also recommend covering weeds with mulch - but we can promise you they will just grow through the mulch.
Watch Your Watering
Yes, you need to water your grass to help prevent dry out from these hot Denver summer days. But be sure not to water the weeds. Watering weeds will only help them grow, and they’ll keep spreading seeds across your yard. Before watering, take a look at the current state of your yard. Are there weeds everywhere? Take time to pull them out, from the root, and dispose of them in a compost pile or outside of your yard.

Pull out weeds from the roots, as we’ve mentioned. But it’s also good to pull weeds just after a rainy day. Wet weeds are easy to pull out, and won’t get caught in the dirt and snap in half.
