Your Denver landscaping ABCs: Part Two

August 21, 2019

Looking for your Denver landscaping ABCs - we’ve put together a series just for you. Our Denver landscaping ABCs is your key to learning about (and ultimately picking) our favorite plant for each letter of the alphabet! Here are the second eight plants we have to recommend, and why.

I - Ivy: Ivy is a multi-functional plant, and perfect for a number of different spaces. If you are looking for ground cover, something beautiful to add in a pot, or looking for a climbing plant - Ivy is for you! Plant your Ivy in a beautiful sun-full area, and water it plenty.

J - Jasmine: Jasmine comes in many different varieties, meaning you can find the one that not only fits your preference, but your growing ability as well. Most of the time, you’ll need to plant Jasmine in a part-sun or full sun area. It all depends on the type though.

K - Kalimeris: Kalimeris is a flower that thrives in hot and humid environments - however it does require some additional love and care. If you want to encourage them to rebloom time after time, you’ll have to shear them.

L - Lavender Bush: Known for their fragrant flowers, lavender bushes are some of the best additions to a garden or flower bed. Plant your lavendar bush in a well-drained area, that will get plenty of sunlight.

M - Marigold: Marigolds are a gorgeous and bright flower, something that is perfect to add some color and vibrancy to your flower bed. While beautiful in color, they do need full-sun to grow healthy and strong.

N - Narrow-Leaf Coneflower: A species of the Sunflower, Narrow-Leaf Coneflowers are native to North America and often times a great addition to your local garden and landscaping. This colorful plant producers flowers at the end of each of their stalks that are visually pleasing.

O - Oleander: With pink and white flowers, Oleanders are truly beautiful...but they are also dangerous. We only recommend these as outdoor plants, and if your home does not have any animals. If your household has small children, it’s also best to either avoid this type of plant or carefully watch your children. Their sap, and even leaves, are toxic and deadly. Proceed with caution!

P - Peony: Peonies are another plant that provides you with a ton of color options. This popular plant does best in full-sun, and even have a lovely fragrance that is emitted. Just make sure you talk with us about the best type of peony for your lawn, and when you should plant it.
